Question:

Hi there. I own a 2004 Weekend Warrior Super Lite FK 2100 rated at 7650 GVWR. These trailers are notoriously under-built, down to under rated tires and dual 3500lbs axles. Now I find that the trailer leans towards the passenger side and the U-bolts have being crushing the metal bump stops under the frame. I would like to upgrade all of the springs and hardware but can not seem to find anything in the 8000lbs range not to increase carrying capacity but longevity. My current double eye springs possibly stretched are 25 1/4 long A 3.5tall B 12 5/8foot C they are 1 3/4inch wide with 4 leaves and 9/16inch diameter holes. In addition, I wanted to purchase a no drill air bag kit Firestone 2452 for my 2009 Ford F250 Lariat 4x4 with crew cab and wanted to know if in fact this is just a bolt on and how easy are they to install. Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely.

Since you have dual axles you will split the overall capacity of your trailer between the two axles. So you would not want a double eye leaf spring set for 8,000 lbs even if we made one because that would be way overkill for your setup.

The closest spring sets that we offer would be the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # SP-218275. This spring has an axle capacity of 4,800 lbs, so when you double that because of your dual axle setup you end up with a capacity of 9,600 lbs which is more than the 8,000 lb range you requested, but is the closest springs we have to what you want.

Like you said, this will not increase your overall towing capacity as that is determined by more than just the leaf springs that are on the trailer.

For the equalizer kit for these springs you would want a Tandem-Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit # AP233, if you need hangers also you would want Tandem-Axle Trailer Hangers # H248.

Installation of the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2542 that you referenced will not be too difficult as long as you have basic mechanical skills and tools. I am going to send you a copy of the installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
