In order to add a 7 way connector to your 2015 Jeep Renegade the easiest possible solution is using the # ETBC7L, which will use the 4 way connector and require a wire to be run to the battery on your vehicle and the reverse light circuit on your vehicle. The good part about this kit is that it does not require running a wire to the brake controller wire. This kit is ideal for someone who's trailer may have a 7 way but no brakes, or if you're going to use a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180.

The Curt Echo # C51180 is a wireless brake controller that works with any smart phone running Android 4.4 (or higher) or iOS 8.0 (or higher) and allows you to activate the brakes on your trailer in proportion to the braking on your tow vehicle. This plugs easily into the ETBC7L and it's by far the easiest to brake controller on the market to install and use.

If you're also in need of a hitch, I recommend using the Curt # C13269 because of the durability of the powder coating on their hitches; this will help keep it from getting rusty and stand up better to the wear and tear you'll encounter on the road. This is a 2" hitch receiver, so it's perfect for towing and will also allow you a greater variety of hitch mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo boxes if you ever need to go that route. If you also need a ball mount and hitch ball, the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 is a great choice that comes with everything you need and then some, to allow you to tow a variety of different trailers.
