Compatibility of Furrion FOS05TASF Vision S Wireless RV Camera System with 2020 Chevy Silverado

Question:
I just purchased a 2020 Chevy Silverado and a 2020 Montana camper. The RV dealer stated that the Furrion Vision S camera would not work with my truck as my truck has LED taillights and the truck does not provide enough power to operate the camera on my camper my camper is pre-wired for the camera. Please confirm if the camera will work with my truck or a solution to the problem, if one exists. .

Expert Reply:
According to Furrion, there was a change in the trailer wiring systems on vehicles manufactured after 2018 that's causing not enough power to be delivered on the running lamp circuit which causes the camera not to work properly or not work at all. Furrion developed an adapter, part # FR87PR which solves this issue and will allow the # FOS05TASF camera system to work.
There's also a more permanent solution by splicing in the PWM Filter # VGR64VR behind the camera to provide a steady current for proper operation.
