Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounting Rail Location in 2017 Ram 1500 6 foot 4 Inch Bed

Question:
Hi, i just purchased the Reese rail and hardware kit for my 2017 Ram 1500 6 6 box. in the instructions it gives a measurement for mounting the rear rail for either an 8 or 6 4 box. what is the measurement from the edge of the box to the rear rail for a 6 6 box. thanks

I checked with Reese, who confirms that for the # RP50142-58 bracket/rail kit the correct dimension from the rear edge of the back hitch mounting rail to the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate) is 28-15/16 inches. This applies to both the 5 foot 7 and the 6 foot 4 beds. The bed dimension is actually 6 foot 4 inches, but most commonly refer to it as the '6 foot' or the '6-1/2 foot' bed.
