2016 Land Rover Evoque Trunk Mounted Bike Rack

Question:

Hi, I am looking for a trunk mounted bike rack that will fit a 2016 Evoque. My concern is that the rear spoiler is not strong. I know I can use the anchor system that many of the racks have for the upper hooks, but I dont want to put to much downward pressure on the spoiler. I have looked at the Hollywood over the top rack but it says that it is not confirmed to fit my car. I have looked at the seasuckers as well, but figured I would go to the experts first. Thanks in advance!

For your 2016 Land Rover Evoque there are currently 2 bike rack options that are confirmed to fit your vehicle. The Yakima HangOut 2 Bike Rack # Y02637 and the 3 bike # Y02638 are your options. They have a reduced weight capacity on your vehicle due to the rear spoiler. The limit is 60 lbs for 2 bikes and 90 lbs for 3 bikes which is a reduction of 5 lbs per bike from the rack capacity.

With either of these racks, I recommend adding the Security Strap for Yakima Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier # Y02623 and a cable lock like the Master Lock Python Cable Lock - Vinyl Coated Steel - Adjustable Length - Up to 6' Long # 8419DPF. You may also want to consider a bike adapter bar like # 64005 for any bikes with a step-thru frame for level transport.

The Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top HRF2 and HRF2-3 are not a fit according to the manufacturer. This is based on the hatch strength and dimension.

The SeaSucker for the rear window is not a fit but you could use the SeaSucker Talon Roof Bike Rack - Fork Mount - Vacuum Cup Mounted # 298-BT1004 or the 2 bike # 298-BM2006 will work for a room mounted carrier.
