Can the pintle lock be secured upright to allow use with a ball-coupler rather than a lunette eye?

The Curt Pintle Hook with 2-5/16" Ball - 2-1/2" Hitches - 20,000 lbs # C45908 can be latched and locked in the up position to allow you to use a standard coupler with the hitch ball. I've attached a video to assist.
