How To Determine Correct Trailer Fender Height When Mounting

Question:
I have a home built trailer with independent torsion suspension and I am looking to purchase fenders. My questions is how do I determine the clearance height inside the fender so the top of the tire does not rub or hit the top inside of the fender? Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

The recommended clearance needed between the trailer fender and trailer tire is 3-4" from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender. That said, it would be best to mock this up beforehand and see which location works best with your setup. The correct fender will be selected based on the diameter of the wheel. The Single Axle Trailer Fender part # HP79VR
for example is designed for 13" - 14" diameter wheels.
