Question:
Hi have an EZ lube 3500 lbs axle. It has grease/dust caps with the 1.18 rubber cap in the center. Will a bearing buddy or etrailer bearing protector fit over the zerk fitting for the EZ lube? It seems like the bearing buddy is a better option than the grease/dust caps for keeping water out of the bearings since its a boat trailer, so Id like to switch it if they will have enough clearance to not damage the zerk fitting. Is my thinking correct, or should I just stick with the grease/dust caps and get replacement grease cap plugs?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I don't care for Bearing Buddies honestly as they make it too easy to overfill the hub and cause the grease seal to blow out. A standard grease cap would be your best option. For that you'd just need the part # RG04-020 for your 3,500 EZ lube spindles.
