Can MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Fit Roof Thickness that is 6-1/2 inch Thick
Updated 04/13/2020 | Published 04/11/2020 >
Question:
I have a concern on allowable overall ceiling thickness and wondering if this will fit before I purchase and remove the current exhaust fan. I have a brand new Jayco travel trailer and depending where you measure the ceiling thickness it’s 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 inches thick, pictures attached. I see the instructions state maximum roof thickness 6 1/2 inches. Is that because the adjustable interior garnish is 6 1/2 inches. Obviously my current garnish is brand new, if needed could I use that instead of the MaxxFan garnish to get the needed height? Thank you.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The garnish of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07500K that you have is what allows it to install in a roof thickness of up to 6-1/2 inches like it sounds like you have. Looking at your picture it does appear this is what you have. You'd be able to use the included garnish at it's current height and you'd be set.
I attached an install video for this kit for you to check out as well.
