Question:

I understand all the, 3:1, 2:1, 1:1 calculations but, with a 6600# Searay 260 Dancer on rollers Im just over the 2:1 guide. Any recommendations for a hand and electric winch? Thanks guys!

I am happy to recommend a couple of winches for you. Since your boat on rollers is just over the 2:1 ratio you need a winch with a capacity of at least half the weight of your boat. For an electric winch, I recommend Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW15020 which has a 4,400 lb rating and will work really well for your application. It includes a 50' long x 1/4" (6 mm) diameter rope with a convenient hand held water proof remote.

The only hand winch I recommend for the weight of your boat is Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake part # F142430 which has a 3,700 lb rating and 2 speeds. The zinc coat allows it to last longer without rusting. The 50' x 7/32" galvanized cable is sold separately with part # FWC7500100.
