Can MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K Install Backwards

Question:
Can this unit be installed with the air vent facing foreward. I know the manual calls fo it to face the rear of the vehicle. In my case I would not be using it while driving. There is a roof rack that would prevent me from installing it facing the rear of the vehicle. Your thoughts?

Yes, you could mount the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K backwards as long as you kept it closed and in the down position when you are travelling.
