Question:

We installed a Curt Triflex brake controller on my 2019 Nissan Frontier and when I hook up the trailer the brakes just lock up. What should I do?

If your trailer brakes are locking up with the Curt Tri-Flex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV, I have to start with checking to ensure you have adjusted the brake setting on the controller to something other than the highest settings, which can result in aggressive braking.

Otherwise, the issue with brakes locking up with a brake controller is that there may be an incorrect connection in your wiring. The issue is most likely that your brakes are connected to the 12 volt power on your trailer's 7-way, or you have corrosion in one of your 7-way connectors, likely at the trailer side, which you may need to replace with 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector - Trailer Side # A7WCB.
