As with most situations where products are updated, the differences between the Brake Buddy 2 and the Brake Buddy 3 # HM39524 may not be so obvious, or seem minute-but they do offer improvements in the functioning of the system. The Brake Buddy 3 now uses TruFit risers that quickly and easily positions your braking system for ultimate braking performance; these risers are designed to help on vehicles that have differences in elevation on the floor boards, so you'll get a much more stable platform for the Brake Buddy 3 to work on. In addition to the added adjustable risers, the clevis that locks onto the brake pedal has been improved to compensate for a variety of different brake pedal shapes. This clevis offers greater adjust-ability and better grip on the brake pedal than the clevis that is used on the Brake Buddy 2, which ultimately helps reduce the chances for malfunction.
The Brake Buddy 3 takes all of the popular features from the BB2, like the auto start feature, easy pull cord, lightweight portability, towed vehicle charging- and adds the risers and improved clevis to improve the functioning and overall ease of use that makes the Brake Buddy popular.
I've linked one of our installation videos on the Brake Buddy 3 that you might want to have a look at, as well, since it will show you how easy it is to install on your towed vehicle.
