Which RoadActive Suspension System for my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 with MagneRide

Published 01/31/2020

Question:

I have a 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation 1500 with x31 and stability and sway control. Does the RAS4611 work with the GMCs equipped with stability control? I use a Hensley WD hitch and it worked fine with my F150 2017 just a little bouncy at times. However I find the suspension on my 2020 Sierra to be softer. With the shorter wheel base on the Sierra I am hoping the RAS4611 will help.

I checked with my contact over at RoadActive Suspensions and he tells me that if your 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 is equipped with the MagneRide technology, you will need to do a VIN check to determine which chassis package your truck has. If you have the MagneRide and a Z95 chassis package, you will be able to use the # RAS2611 instead of the # RAS4611 to help improve the suspension on you truck; if you have the Z45 chassis, there is not a RAS system that can be used.

If you don't have the MagneRide system on your 2020 GMC Sierra 1500, you can use the # RAS4611 system that you were looking at without issue. From what I can find, the Denali packages are typically the trucks that come with the MagneRide technology, but it would be worth checking to make sure that your trim packages also did not include this addition.
