Question:
Hi, Are there any compatibility issues using the RP30073 Reese Under-Bed Rail Installation Kit and F2550 Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs kit? This will be installed on a 2008 Ford F-250. The Reese Under-Bed Rail configuration is preferred so that I can use a BandW Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch and easily change it over to a future truck with the Ford factory installed prep package.

I reached out to my contact at Firestone to check the compatibility of the Reese Under-Bed Rail Installation Kit part # RP30073 and the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2550 and they will work in conjunction with each other without issue on your 2008 Ford F-250 or F-350. In my opinion this is an excellent way to solve your current problem and give you the option to save some cash down the road when you do switch trucks to one with the OEM Ford prep package as you had mentioned.
The B&W Companion OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package part # BWRVK3370 is the 5th wheel hitch you're going to need to complete your setup. This hitch will give you the slider function typically required on shorter bed applications and is one of the best hitches on the market and one you're sure to be pleased with. I've linked the installation videos we have done here at etrailer to guide you during your installation. Happy Hauling!
