We do have everything you need to install a 7-Way on your 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon so you can utilize a brake controller but we need to start off by making sure you have a 4-Way for the basic trailer lighting functions. If you don't already have one I recommend the Curt T-Connector # C56040 because it has the highest amp capacity and comes with a 1-year warranty.
Next I recommend installing the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L which plugs into the T-Connector and then you route the power wire up to the battery on your Outback Wagon. Once installed you can then use the Curt Echo # C51180 which is a wireless brake controller that you adjust the different settings with your phone. The beauty of this system is that you don't have to route wires into the cab of your vehicle.
Obviously you'll need a trailer hitch and a ball mount kit to complete your towing package on your vehicle. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch # C67JR which has a hidden crosstube and then I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
I have attached some review and installation videos that you can check out.
