Weight Distribution and Sway Control for a Starcraft Centennial Trailer and 2007 Honda Odyssey

I have a 2007 honda odyssey that I will be using to tow a starcraft pop up centenial 3612. Is this a sufficient weight distribution set up for that vehicle. I will be using a class III hitch with 2in receiver, tranny cooler and brake control as reccommended/required.

The Reese system # C17322 that you have referenced is for trailers that have a tongue weight capacity between 800 and 1,000 pounds. This system is probably too heavy for your pop up trailer and you will experience a stiff ride.

From the research I did, the camper will have a tongue weight of around 375 pounds. You then need to add to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the van to get the total tongue weight. I recommend a system that is rated for 200 to 600 pounds like # RP66540. This system also has trunnion bars which will provide better ground clearance than round bars.

To this system you can add sway control, # 83660, and a 2 inch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286. I have included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control.
