Question:

We have a 2018 Chevy Equinox and are using the Blue Ox Patriot 2 brake system. When we installed the brake system we had the service company wire in a power line for it, a 12v cigarette lighter receptacle under the dash. Will that line occupy the center of our 6 pin plug? And if it does, could we put the power line for this battery charge line in with it? Thanks in advance!

While I can't give you a definitive answer as to how your shop chose to wire in the 12V accessory plug on the dash of your 2018 Chevy Equinox, I can say that it is highly unlikely that it's wired up to the 12V center pin on your 6-Pole connector. Typically, a 12V outlet like # RM-9332 is wired to the vehicle battery through a fuse box, as shown in the included installation video at the bottom of the page. This allows the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR to be powered by your vehicle's battery, not the motorhome's.

You could simply check the wires coming out of your 6-Pole connector. There should only be four wires connected to the back of the socket to power the lights. The center pin should not have a wire ran to it which would indicate you can use it to provide a maintenance charge to your vehicle battery by installing the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. Otherwise, I suggest reaching back out to the company who installed the 12V accessory plug just to be sure.
