Question:

Hi. I am looking for a trailer hitch for my 2019 toyota Highlander. I really like the hidden designs on some of the hitches I've been seeing. Is there anything like that for my vehicle? If so, what would be your recommendation? Thanks for your help. Plan on towing a small trailer sometimes maybe use it for other things too later on.

There are actually a few hidden-design trailer hitches available for your 2019 Toyota Highlander, but I specifically recommend the Curt # C13394 because of its superior black powder coat finish that will last much longer compared to those from other manufacturers (for longer corrosion resistance) and its competitive price point.

This Class III hitch features a drop-down 2" receiver, which means the crosstube can stay hidden behind the rear bumper of your Highlander for a sleek, factory-like appearance. I have attached a couple images of the hitch mounted so you can see exactly how it will look on your vehicle.

The hitch also features robust capacities of 5,000 pounds towing and 500 pounds of tongue weight, which is more than enough to handle any trailer your Highlander is capable of towing.

In order to tow a trailer you will also need to add a wiring harness. For this I recommend the Curt T-Connector # C56217 if you don't have the tow package or the Curt # 56042 if you do have the factory tow package. Both options will plug right into an existing port behind the interior trim panel on the rear cargo area of your Highlander. It will provide you with a 4-Way connector to hook up with and power the trailer's basic signal lights.
