Question:
Got new truck. 5th wheel does not tow level. There is a 2inch level difference between front and back of trailer 23 feet. Is it okay to tow it as is? I have lowered the truck already. Should I install 2inch lift blocks between Dexter axles and springs? Do you carry the lift kit?

Expert Reply:
I recommend to use a over-under conversion kit which will move the trailer springs to the top of the axle and increase the height by thickness of the leaf spring stack. For that I recommend Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-384-00 for a 2-3/8" axle or a part # K71-385-00 for a 3" axle. If you have a TorFlex axle you will need part # K71-707-02 if the capacity of your TorFlex is 2,300 to 4,000-lbs.
As a last resort you can replace the hangers for longer ones like part # E4139 but you would need to cut off your current hangers and weld the taller ones on which is inconvenient.
Also keep in mind fifth wheel hitches are normally height adjustable so you may take a look at your fifth wheel hitch as well. We do recommend 5-6" of bed rail clearance when towing a fifth wheel.
