Question:
Do each of the trailer wiring harnesses for a 2019 Subaru Outback need to be stored in the rear hatch compartment or do any of them install under the vehicle? I don't want to drill or anything though. Thanks.

Each of the trailer wiring harnesses that fit your 2019 Subaru Outback will be stored inside the rear hatch compartment. It can be completely out of the way though, as you can lift up the panel in the rear hatch where the connector is and simply store the connector there. Harnesses are specifically designed this way for many vehicles that aren't considered "full-time" towing vehicles as a way to help protect it from damage. If you want to have the harness stored outside your Subaru you'll need to drill a hole to route the harness underneath.
The following 4-way harnesses are a fit for your 2019 Subaru Outback:
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467
- Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector # HM11143885
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56040
Additionally, I also highly recommend using Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755 to help prevent any type of corrosion in your connector; using it will increase your 4-way's durability and extend its lifespan.
