Question:
Hello etrailer, We are about to purchase a 2019 VW Atlas SE 4MOTION. We are interested in purchasing Coachman Apex Nano 193BHS. I wanted to find out what your opinion would be on first, the vehicle and camper choice as far as towing toes, and second, what anti sway system you would recommend or anything else I am forgetting!. Thanks!

If I'm correct, the 2019 VW Atlas SE 4MOTION has the 3.6L V6 AWD 8-speed Automatic and a tow capacity of up to 5,000lbs when engine and drivetrain upgrades are made. I would look into that first with your dealer to make sure if your intent is to tow, are there additional upgrades you want to include.
The dry weight of the Coachman Apex Nano 193BHS is 3,370lbs and what you will need to know is the fully loaded, ready-to-tow weight after you've packed in all the gear you want to carry. Also add in the weight of any cargo (gear, coolers, luggage, etc.) you've added behind your rear axle. This sum will be the total tongue weight you have to work with. You can use the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 to help in this process.
Once you have this total tongue weight, you can determine what weight distribution hitch with sway control you want to use. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET
Finally a thin walled socket for Equal-i-zer Hitches # EQ70-00-4800 is required to install the tow ball.
Included are video resources with additional information on these components.
