How Far do Legs Extend of Thule HideAway Awning and How Far Does it Stick Out When Retracted

Question:

Double checking dimension of unit as to how far it hangs out from wall when retracted. Also, do extension support legs fold up into unit when Awning is retracted or are they removed? What is length of these legs and what length do they extend to?

I reached out to the manufacturer, Thule, who told me the legs of the Thule HideAway Awning - Direct Mount # TH490011 extend 8 feet. These legs do fold up into the awning so you do not have to remove them every time you use the awning, which makes it easy to use. I have added a link to a video review which shows this occurring at about the 4:30 mark. The video review is for the roof rack mounted HideAway awning but the legs fold into the awning on the direct-mount as well.

As far as how far the HideAway Awning # TH490011 sticks out from the wall wen it is fully retracted, Thule told me the canister the awning gets retracted into measures 120” long x 3-1/2” wide x 5-1/2” high, so when mounted to the side of your vehicle with the awning retracted, it will protrude 3-1/2".

First time use on my awning ....The support legs in my Thule awning will not lock . The lever that should Fold back only raises perpendicular to the leg... it does not snap Back...should I try to force it?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by locking into place. Is the knob on the support arm that allows for vertical adjustment not tightening up correctly or is it something different?

@ChrisR it’s not a knob.... it’s a tab type lever ....have been talking to Thor ... probably need an awning replacement!
