Correct Replacement for Kwikee Steps 903206000

Question:

I have the 2 step system with the part #903206000 and have read everywhere that the LC372261 is the replacement steps for mine. The problem is that all the specs seem to match except my steps have an 8inch rise where the LC372261 show a 7inch rise. The depth, or run, is 11", the overall extended height is 14". The step width is 24" with an overall width of about 25 1/4" +/-. The mounting bolt pattern is 8x22. The drive arm is the "A" style. The unit is on a 2003 winnebago adventurer. I am confused to the point of questioning whether I should move to a 3 step system with 7inch rise.

After doing some research, I found that the exact replacement for your Kwikee steps with model number 903206000 are indeed the Kwikee 32 Series Electric RV Double Steps # LC372261. I also was able to confirm this with my contact at Lippert.

So, why then are your steps measuring taller than the specs listed for the # LC372261? Well, after 17 years of use, it's only understandable that the weight being repeatedly applied on them has caused them to deform or expand just a tad bit. The spec sheet from the manufacturer actually shows the step rise on LC372261 is 7.75 inches and the entry height or overall extended height is 13.5 inches. This makes sense since you're getting about a half inch discrepancy in your measurements.

To clarify things even more, there is one last indication that your original Kwikee steps are in fact the same as the 32 Series # LC372261. The 903206000 actually indicates the series in the third and fourth digit (32) and the fifth and sixth digits (06) indicate manufacturing took place before the year 2006, which matches up with the information on the date code in your photo as well (06/20/02).
