Im trying to figure out the best way to store our stuff for camping ontop of my 2019 chevy Silverado crew cab 2500hd. We carry rge golf cart in the bed of the truck and need more storage space

I spoke with my contact over at Thule and they say that using a cargo basket with the Thule Cantilever # TH24002XT and Thule TracRac SR # TH43002XT-780 is not typically something that they've seen and have not tested this application use on this product. Just because they haven't seen it, doesn't mean that it can't be done, but it was noted that the Cantilever bar was not designed to carry an extremely heavy load-it was simply designed to help spread out the weight on longer loads.

If you wanted to go ahead and try carrying a cargo basket on the TracRac SR system, you'll need to find a basket that will fit between the two arms of the cantilever system comfortably. I recommend going with the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT which is 40" wide and will comfortably fit in the 63" opening of the # TH24002XT . This basket has a capacity of 150lbs and will mount to elliptical shaped bars on the TracRac and Cantilever.

I think the best way for you guys to carry your camping gear is going to be with a hitch mounted cargo carrier like the # 63153 . This carrier has a 24" x 60" platform and a 500-lb capacity, which should be sufficient to carry your heavy camping gear. If you needed a trailer hitch for your 2019 Silverado 2500 you can use the Curt # C15860 , which is a heavy duty hitch that will handle heavy tongue weights that are required with using the cargo carrier solution.
