Question:
I currently have the Curt 17500 assembly. Looking at the trunion bars they all measure 9/16 and I was thinking about purchasing the C17537 to gain the extra capacity and using them in my Curt 17500 head?

The two Curt systems you have are very similar but to swap bars between the two you'd have to also swap the heads since the bars are different sized. So for a head you'd need the part # C17509 and the bars # C17537 and you'd have upgraded your system to the higher rated 1,000 lbs - 1,500 lbs tongue weight setup.
In general we recommend people set up their WD systems on vehicles with air ride by first putting the weight of the trailer on the ball mount, letting it settle, and then run through the setup process. Your method seems pretty interesting too and I would agree it is beneficial to know.
