Can Different Brand Camera System Be Used on RV with Pre-Wired Voyager Bracket

Updated 09/24/2019 | Published 09/22/2019

Question:

I have a Furrion shark fin camera and screen from my old RV. My new RV is prewired for Voyager. Is there an adapter kit so I can use my Furrion?

While there isn't an adapter available that will allow you to plug in your existing Furrion Backup Camera like # FOS05TASF to the pre-wired Voyager bracket on your new RV, you can certainly still use what you already have. Installing the Furrion camera will just require you to hardwire it to the tail light circuit wires of the RV instead of utilizing the plug-in option of the factory bracket. This calls for more of a time-consuming install but does save you the money of having to replace an existing system that you seem to be perfectly happy with.

When installing the camera you may want to use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 to determine which wire behind the RV's tail lights are for reverse (if you want a backup camera) or running lights (if you want observation).
