The replacement actuating rod for Reese 16K 5th wheel hitches is # 30579. You may also need klip rings # 58054 and spring # 30776.
There are no written instructions for replacing the rod. But you will have to remove the head of the hitch and turn it over to get more access to the internal parts. I have included an exploded diagram of a Reese 16K hitch, # RP30047, that might help.
