Spacing Requirements for Slipper Springs. Where can I find how much space or clearance is required to accommodate the elongation of a slipper spring during its travel?

I can help you determine how to figure out the right replacement slipper springs, though I'm not 100% certain what you mean by "where can I find how much space or clearance is required." I think you are asking if there is a standard amount a slipper spring will elongate over time, and the answer is unfortunately no, as it all depends on the amount of weight on the spring, the amount of time it was used, the quality of the spring, etc.
I would take into account an inch or so of your slipper springs elongating (give or take) and with that in mind the best way to determine if a slipper spring will fit is by measuring the length from the center of the spring eye to the end end of the spring, as you can see in the accompanying diagram (the best way to get an accurate length of a leaf spring is with the trailer up on jacks with the axle hanging). You will also need to know the width of your spring and the weight rating of your axle.
I have added a link to a help article on slipper spring suspension which I highly recommend checking out.
