Can Fan of MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan be Used with Assembly in Up and Down Position

Will this vent work in the lowered position or does it have to be raised for operation?

The fan of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-05301K can work with the vent assembly raised up or down. When the vent is in the down position the fan basically just moves the inside air of the RV around though and will not pull in or push outside air. When it's in the raised position it can vent the air of the trailer outside as the vents open up. It is not reversible and can only move air in one direction.
