Are Flat Towing Parts for 2016 Chevy Equinox the Same as 2019 Chevy Equinox
Question:
Is the system for a 4 cyl 2016 equinox the same as the 2019

Expert Reply:
The parts to flat tow a 2016 Chevy Equinox and 2019 Chevy Equinox are different because the vehicle underwent a style change but if you are looking to flat tow both I'll give you what you need for each, starting with a 2019 Chevy Equinox:
- Base Plate Kit: Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519332
- Tow Bar: Demco Excali-Bar III Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511013
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 (if the Equinox is a Premier model) OR Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-LED (if the Equinox is NOT a Premier model)
- Supplemental Braking System: Roadmaster 9400 Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400 with 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 and Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751489
For your 4-cylinder 2016 Chevy Equinox you can re-use the tow bar and braking system (with a new kit) but will need all new base plates and wiring.
- Base Plate Kit: Demco Classic Base Plate Kit # DM9518315
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 with Fuse Bypass # RM-76517
- RoadMaster Second Vehicle Kit for 9700 Braking System # RM-98800 and Roadmaster 2nd Motorhome Monitor/Alarm Kit # RM-98850
I have added a link to some video reviews and installs, as well as installation instructions for you to check out as well.
