The Replacement Hook Up Brackets # C17208 do not act as sway control. These are for use with just the chain systems like part # C17332 or # C17057 which require a friction sway control like # 17200 if you want sway control added. This friction sway control is effective but a little outdated and can be frustrating because you have to disengage it to back your trailer up.

For a system that does have integrated sway control and chain hangers you can use the Blue Ox SwayPro like part # BXW0753 which has a tongue weight (TW) range of 550 lbs - 750 lbs. I have also attached links to our selection of weight distribution (WD) systems with integrated sway control that you can filter through.

When looking into purchasing a Weight Distribution (WD) system you want to find one with a Tongue Weight (TW) range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer, which you can use part # e99044 for, along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.

Let me know what specs for your trailer weight and I can make a recommendation for you.
