Question:
what is height from bottom of mounting bracket to top of box with lid on? I am trying to determine how high the box is in the frame. Also does the box just set on top of the mounting brackets? If not strapped down it could bounce up and onto the ground? Thank you

According to the manufacturer, from top to bottom the Storage Trunk for Malone MicroSport and XtraLight Trailers # MPG481 measures 14 inches high; it is also 37-3/4 inches long and 18-1/4 inches wide.
In regards to mounting it to the Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G you definitely need to have it strapped down like in the accompanying photo (the box does come with a load strap). Not strapping it down properly could result in it bouncing loose, like you mentioned, but that is not going to be a concern with the box strapped down.
I have added a link to the directions showing exactly how to secure the trunk to the trailer, as well as a link to a video review which shows how to strap it down.
