Question:
Im assuming the pucks are the same in both beds. Are you not recommending this for short bed because of different opinions on fixed vs sliding on shorter beds. I currently own a short bed and a fixed hitch and I have no issues towing with my 28BHS reflection. Right now I am trying to decide between bed sizes but will be getting the 2020 and am interested in this hitch because I figure it will be easier to just get a hitch that fits pucks instead of dealing with having current Husky hitch installed. We normally recommend short beds to use a slider like you mention for clearance issues. The B&W Companion Slider for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with OEM prep package is not available yet. It is expected to be available September of 2019.
If you have the 6-1/2 ft bed and the shape of the nose of your trailer allows for enough clearance to use a fixed hitch, you will not have any issues using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package part # BWRVK3710 fixed hitch.
However, if you are still trying to decide on bed size I recommend to get the 8 foot bed if you want to use a fixed hitch to avoid clearance issues. We recommend to have 5-6" between overhang of trailer and the bed rails and 4-5" between the trailer and the tailgate.

I have a B&W companion with slider in a 2500 Silverado with the puck system. Will this fit a 2020 Silverado with puck system and if not what would I need to do to make it fit
