Question:
Auto level has stopped leveling the RV. Usually just raises the front of the camper as high as it will go, or drops the front way below level. Have reset the zero point numerous times. Lippert cant tell me whether its the controller or the rear sensor. Is there any way to narrow down the problem without just replacing parts until its fixed?

I reached out to my technical contact at Lippert regarding the erratic performance issues you're having with the Ground Control Leveling System like # LC358590 on your trailer.
He said the issue could possibly be with the rear sensor but it's unlikely that it is actually bad and in need in replacement. This is because when the sensor is going bad it almost always shows up on the touchscreen as a sensor error, so you would know if this is the case. The problem though could be with its actual orientation/position. You can physically inspect the sensor, which should be located behind the rear jacks, to make sure it's in good condition and that the wires are facing forward and the sticker is on top. You won't be able to actually see the sticker but you can feel it with your hand.
The other possible cause is low voltage on the battery you're using for the power source. My contact said the performance of the front jacks in particular make him think this is possibly the culprit. You will want to make sure that your battery is fully charged and in good condition. The Ground Control System needs to have 12.7 volts from the battery to ensure proper performance. Anything less and you can get power surges and high amperage charges which is what causes those front jacks to raise the camper as high as they can go instead of stopping at level.
Please just let me know if this doesn't resolve the issue and we can continue to troubleshoot.
