In order to determine if this Kuat NV 2 Bike rack, part # NV22G, will work on your 2008 Toyota 4Runner, you will need to take one simple measurement on your vehicle.
You will need to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin on your 4Runner out to the furthest point out on your bumper. If that measurement is less than 10-1/2 inches, then the bike rack will fit with the rack in the down position. If the measurement is less than 7 inches, then it will fit with the rack in the folded up position.
The Kuat NV bike rack does have a tilting feature that will allow you open the rear door of your 4Runner and gain access to the rear of the vehicle, even with the bikes loaded.
The bike rack will accept wheel diameter sizes of 20 to 29 inches and an overall diameter of wheel and tire of around 32 inches.
I am including a link to a video review of the Kuat NV bike rack.
