Question:
Ive recently switched from the 14,000 lb hitch to the 10,000 lb one, which meant a downsizing of the trunion bars. Do I now need to get smaller L brackets on my trailer, as now there is a gap between the bar and the retaining clip?

Expert Reply:
Since the Equal-i-zer 14,000 lb Weight Distribution Hitch # EQ37141ET and the 10,000 lb # EQ37101ET both use the same size bracket, you won't need to replace them. There will be some spacing between the trunNion bars and the retaining clip as shown in the attached photo. It is possible that your brackets may be bent, in which case you would replace them with the Replacement Sway Control Bracket # EQ95-01-5600 .
