Will etrailer.com Electric Brakes # AKEBRK-12 Replace Dexter 12K Brakes on Trailer

with my trailer the parts book for the dexter axle calls for a k23-443-00 and a k23-442-00. i was wondering the kit AKEBRK-12 will also work or fit. inital mesurments appear to be the same. thank you.

Yes, the etrailer.com Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-12 that you referenced will work perfectly on your trailer in place of the Dexter K23-443-00 (Right Hand) and K23-443-00 (Left Hand) that your manual calls for. These share the exact same 12-1/4" x 5" dimensions and 7 bolt mounting flange pattern that will fit your existing hub drums and axle.
The only real difference between the two brake assemblies other than brand name is how the friction material is molded to the brake shoes on the etrailer.com units, which actually provides a bit of an upgrade. The pads on these are fully bonded to the shoe, which leads to a longer lifespan since they won't crumble as they start to wear down.
This kit includes both the Right Hand and Left Hand assemblies. I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.
