Question:
I would like to add the slimline LED lights to my 2011 Passport travel trailer for extra visibility. Can I run them along with my existing lights?

Expert Reply:
The Optronics LED lights, # STL79RB, draws 0.342/.022 amps at 12.8 volts. You will need to make sure that adding additional lights will not overload the electrical system on the tow vehicle or the converter (if it uses one).
Also, the other lights on the trailer would have to be LEDs. You do not want to mix LED lights and incandescent lights in the same system.
These lights are designed as 3 function lights (stop, tail, turn) but you can wire them to only function with the brake and turn signals, or just the tail lights if you wanted to. They cannot function only as brake lights though because on a trailer, the turn signals and brake lights share the same circuit.
I have included a link to a video review of this light for you. We also carry the same light with a clear lens, # STL89RCB.
