Can Electric A-Frame Jack be Powered by Tow Vehicle Battery
Updated 07/09/2019 | Published 07/07/2019 >
Question:
I want to put electric Jacks on the front of my equipment trailers but I do not want to put batteries on the trailers. Is there enough power from the 7 way plug to run the electric jack? I saw one video of yours say yes, but according to some other questions similar to mine, you say no.

You can definitely use the 7-Way on your tow vehicle to power an electric A-Frame jack. We actually carry the Buyers Products 12-Volt Electric Jack # 3370093500 which comes with a 7-Way connector installed so you can do just this very thing without having to splice into the 7-Way on your trailer.
We typically say to use a trailer battery just to help prevent draining the start battery in your vehicle to the point where it won't start and you get stranded. As long as you are mindful of this then by all means go for it!
If you don't already have electric jacks the Buyers Products that I referenced is a great choice because it is great quality and it saves you the hassle of wiring.
