Max PSI and Speed Rating for Kenda Loadstar K550 Trailer Tire

Question:

Tire says 50 psi is max. We are driving from LA to GA tomorrow during the day. Temp. will be mid 90’s. Do I still put 50 psi cold before starting? Will the tire not get too hot? What is max speed I should drive? Pulling a 17 ft boat behind a pickup.

You are correct that the Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1ST86 (K550) has a max rating of 50 psi and that should be when the tires are cold. Kenda has tested and approved this rating which also takes into account the heat build-up during travel. This tire has a max speed rating of 65 mph so you just need to make sure you don't exceed this speed otherwise the tires will get too hot and could fail.
