Solution for Trailer Lighting that Flickers Using 7-Way to 5-Way Adapter

Question:

My truck has a 7 pin and my boat has a five pin, I bought an adapter and everything works fine except once I start driving my trailer lights start flickering. I tested the ground on the adapter and on the five pin and they seem fine. Both tail lights have grounds, but they are really rusty. What tool would you reccomend to try find the issue? I saw where you can hook something up to your truck then plug the boat in, would that work? Thanks for any help!

I think we have already found the issue so you wouldn't need a tester of any type. Since you said the trailer wiring pins are rusty what you need to do is take some some paper to the rusty pins to clean all the rust off. This will get rid of the intermittent connection you are experiencing and will allow the trailer wiring to work as it should.
