Does the Curt Hitch Lock C23517 Have a Weight Capacity
Updated 06/03/2019 | Published 05/30/2019 >
Question:
What is the load rating for this hitch pin as far as tongue weight and trainer weight? I am pulling a 10,000# travel trailer with a Dodge 3/4 ton diesel, 2inch receiver.

The Curt Hitch Lock part # C23517 will work just fine for a 10,000 lb trailer however, I do not have a specific tongue weight nor gross trailer weight rating because this is just not something the manufacturer test for. The reason for this is because it is not needed. The 1/2" diameter pin or 5/8" when using the sleeve will have a shear strength rating that far exceeds what you will be able to pull with the vehicle. Nearly all trailer hitch pins do not include a specific weight capacity.
