Question:
From reviewing your installation videos and instructions it seems the key to identifying which wiring harness I will need depends on whether my Highlander has a converter under the dash. How do I identify this situation? It seems the wiring under the rear compartments is the same with or without the converter.

Expert Reply:
If your 2019 Toyota Highlander has the factory converter and tow package the port that the 4-way pigtail of either 4-way kit plugs into will be active. So you could test the pins of the the connector with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 while applying various turn signals of your vehicle and you should see the pins activate. If so, you have the converter and all you need is the # 56042. If not, then you need # C56217 instead.
