Is Top Cross Tube of Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Removable

Question:

I purchased this and a hybrid trailer last fall. At the time you had pics showing it mounted on the frame of a trailer similar to mine these pics are no longer shown but are on pics with etrailer in background when doing search. I havent gotten around to opening and mounting the unit. I am just now looking on line at how to go about it. My current concern is am I able to open the front bunk with this unit on the frame? Is the top piece removable to create a lower height for the bunk to be opened? I didnt notice the carrier which goes around the crank, is this lower or have the option to remove top part to open bunk? Thanks for your help!

The top crossbar of the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275 is not something that can be removed, you may have to remove the carrier from your trailer in order to open the top bunk of your hybrid trailer.

The measurement from the top of your trailer's frame (where the rack attaches) to the top of the cross tube is 33-1/2 inches so if your trailer's bunk is higher than that you can keep the rack on, but if it is lower you will need to remove it.
