Trailer Wiring for 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Question:

I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the factory tow package. I have read the other Q and As and I just dont see how this plugs into the existing 4 way connector. I can pop the 4 way from its holder, but I dont see any way it comes apart. Do I have to access the wire cable via the tail light?

Since you have the factory tow package on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way Trailer Connector # HM42190 will be an easy installation. The plug will be just behind the bumper and I've attached photos to assist with the vehicle side plug you will look for that will be on the driver's side.

If you have a 4-way trailer connector, it may have been installed by the dealer and will connect behind the tail light on the driver's side. If this is the installation then you don't have the factory tow package but you can still upgrade to the 7-way trailer connector but you will instead use the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way Trailer Connector with Universal Pigtail Harness # HM47210 or # HM47180 and then use wiring # 5506 to get the 12V power and brake controller functions.
