Fuses are good ... red wire is hooked up to stud 1 ... 12 v is showing when I test the red wire at the stud ... shorts out or becomes non existent when checked from the trailer plug ... if I ran a new wire what color w wire would I splice into in order to have it run to the proper prince in the 7 way connector top right +

The 12 volt power wire that goes from the power distribution center to your 7-way trailer connector should be a red/black wire but so long as you are splicing into the one that is ran to to the correct terminal (see photo) then color will not matter. Once you have this wire you will need to cut it in two, splice the end from the connector onto part # 10-1-1 (per foot) with part # 224775 and then run this wire up to the power distribution center stud with part # 185917 and part # DW05705-1.
