Powered A-Frame Jack Wont Work When Not Connected to Tow Vehicle

I have a Lippert Components Smart jack, #643589. Currently the jack will not operate without the trailer being hooked up to electric.

Either the battery is the issue or the wiring of the jack to the battery is the issue since the jack only works when connected to the tow vehicle.
Check to make sure that the battery is grounded properly to the frame of the trailer first as that's most likely what's wrong. The jack you have grounds through the mounting hardware which attaches to the trailer frame. If the frame isn't then connected to the negative terminal of the battery the battery then wouldn't be able to power the jack.
Also make sure the battery has a full charge or is capable of holding a full charge. We have chargers like the CTEK part # CTEK56353 which you could use.
