Can I take a four wire plug end and connect it to the five wires from my boat trailer? It was a Wesbar 707286 4-Way Flat Wiring Connector Trailer End Wishbone Harness with 5 wires all I can find is a 4 wire end were I live.

You can indeed connect a standard 4-Way plug like the Hopkins # HMC20031 to the 5-wire wishbone harness on your boat trailer. A wishbone harness uses a separate running lights wire for each side of the trailer (instead of having to run a jumper wire across at the rear).
To connect the wiring to the new 4-Way you will just need to connect the 2 running lights wires together (which should both be brown but you will want to test them to be sure) using a butt-connector like # 05731-5. You will then run the combined wire to the running lights pin on the 4-Way, which is the pin right next to the ground terminal.
