Question:
Hello. I have an RV equipped with Dexter Nev-R-Lube 7000 pound axles. I wish to convert the electric drum brakes to electric over hydraulic disc brakes. The wheels have 8 studs, but I cant recall at the moment if they are 1/2inch or 9/16inch studs. The tires are ST235/85R16 and their load range is G. I see your kit numbers K71-694-695-12 and K71-694-695-10. Would one of these kits be what I need for my conversion? I assume one kit does one axle two wheels and therefore I would need two kits. Does this sound correct? I would also be looking at the Titan BrakeRite EHB actuator for this project. Thank you,

For your 7000 lb Dexter Nev-R-Lube axles, your bearings will be 50 mm. The kits you referenced will not be compatible with your axles. You will instead use the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-2-90. This will give you 9/16 inch lugs as well as the correct nuts so you won't need to change your wheels. The Nev-R-Lube axles require that you only use their hubs and bearings versus the traditional tapered bearings and races like the kits you mentioned. You are correct that you will need a kit for each axle.
This kit will work well with the Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit # T4813102. Then for your brake lines, I recommend the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 25' # HS496-252 which will work great with disc brake assemblies.
I've attached a photo of the parts in this kit and the layout to assist. I've also attached an article to help with the project overview.
